One of the things that I often observe women doing while in public is ignore their surroundings. One sure way to become victimized is to ignore what is happening around you.
Always be aware of what is happening in your immediate area.
Don't walk between cars in parking lots, use main roadway.
Park as close to the entrance as possible.
Never talk on cell phone while in public i.e. walking to your car.
Always keep your head up and try to make eye contact with passers by.
Never ever approach a vehicle with a stranger hanging around it.
Always look in the rear seat before entering your vehicle, especially for mini vans and S.U.V.s.
